Arianna’s Skydive for SeeSaw: Honoring my Dad’s Legacy

During his time in the military, my dad was a parachutist. He knew a unique kind of courage – the kind required to step out into the air and trust the fall. I’ve spent years trying to experience for myself the feeling he must have felt, but for various reasons, the timing was never right.

Now, it finally is.

Losing my father is a grief that remains incredibly vivid for me. By skydiving now, I’m doing more than just chasing an adrenaline rush; I’m seeking a way to reconnect with him, to understand the world he knew, and to let his spirit live on through my own actions.

However, I realized this jump needed to be about something even bigger than my own journey. That is why I have decided to become a fundraiser for SeeSaw.

SeeSaw provides essential support for children who are navigating the immense difficulties of grief. I want to turn this skydive from a moment of personal “entertainment” into a reality of support for children who are struggling to find their way back to a place of safety and peace.

I know my dad would approve. He knew what it meant to be brave in the face of the unknown, and I can think of no better way to honor him than by helping children find their courage during their darkest times.
