What we offer
Consultation for professionals
If you are supporting a bereaved child or young person, or a child expecting a bereavement, it can help to talk things through with our grief specialists.
You can request a no-names consultation to discuss a situation without sharing identifying details. With permission, we can also offer case consultations to help you understand what may be happening for a child and how best to support them in your setting.
Consultations can take place in person, by phone, or by video call. We can also meet with groups of staff, for example when a school community has been affected by a death.
If a school experiences the sudden death of a pupil, we aim to respond quickly. SeeSaw is part of the Joint Agency Review Team, which meets within 48 hours to consider wider support needs. We are often able to offer early support to Headteachers and school staff.
Training for professionals
SeeSaw offers online training for professionals in Oxfordshire who work with bereaved children and young people.
Our training aims to help you feel more confident recognising how grief affects children and young people and gives practical ideas for supporting them in your setting.
The training is free for professionals supporting children and young people in Oxfordshire. All modules are pre-recorded, so you can complete them at a time and pace that suits you.
Peer Group Intervention
To support young people following the death of a friend or peer we offer a school-based group intervention for young people. ‘Making sense of my grief’ is a support session held in school by our grief specialists working in partnership with school staff. Our group psychoeducation session is designed to help young people understand and manage their grief, develop coping skills and identify helpful support networks.
